Distaccamente Egocetrica

At first it might seem like a call to the posters of the department stores, made by Marcello Dudovich for Rinascente. In truth the Russian artist Slava Fokk, tried to merge neoclassicism and modern art; creating paintings in art deco style. His main influences come from the paintings of Otto Dix, Jan Van Eyck, from which there began his interest in the principles of the old Dutch school to which he added a precise composition and depth of the framework and elaboration of detail.

These pieces from Katharine Morling,  look like black and white drawings from a comic book but they’re actually ceramic sculptures made from clay and porcelain. Yep, these things aren’t just sketches or made from paper, they’re cheeky fun sculptures.

The Awesomer says Morling uses clay and porcelain to first shape the sculpture and then outlines the sculpture to make the visual illusion. See more of her work here.     (spolid)
